Dr Rob Burnie

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Rob is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust, in South London where he is the Labour Ward Lead. His clinical interests and experience lie in intrapartum care, high risk obstetrics and preterm birth together with medical education and global health. Having concurrently worked in rural Sierra Leone over the last 15 years, delivering clinical care and training, he also leads the UK Charity ‘Friends of Nixon Memorial Hospital', Segbwema Sierra Leone where he continues his active involvement in grassroot global health work. Medical education experience has additionally included being faculty for RCOG Post Partum Family training courses in Tanzania and for the David Notts Foundation Hostile Environment Surgical Training courses. He is passionate about developing equitable access to high quality women’s healthcare in all settings.
